For full features; Go to 93 altima stalls when press gas
Hi folks, new here and hope to get help from frustration. My wife has a
1993 Altima GXE. She is very good about having scheduled maintenance done
on the car. The car was running fine until we loaded it up to take it to
the airport.
The car starts and seems to idle fine but as soon as you press the gas it
sputters and dies. When I looked at the engine the only thing I could find
was the hose leading from the BPT was blown and had a hole in it. I
replaced this hose with no change.
It is obviously getting air and fuel as it starts and idles but you cannot
rev the engine. Should I start with replacing the fuel filter? Also read
about fuel pressure regulator but thinking I should start with filter.
Thanks

In case anyone has similar problems, I found oil in the distributor. Once
i cleaned the oil out the car ran fine. What I haven't figured out yet is
how to keep it from reoccurring.

The seal (o-ring) which seals your distributor to the engine crankcase is
likely to be leaking.
