For full features; Go to High idle
Got a 1994 tempo with the 2.3. soon as u start it up the idle jumps up
really high then after like a minute it drops down the car dose not stall
out. I am tempted to replace the idle air control valve cause i think thats
what it is but i heard it could also be a ect. i know this is a problem
with these cars just had to stick 250 to get the damn harmonic balancer
replaced cause it was seperating and making a howling noise but i am
rambling on but u got any suggestions it would be nice to hear them.

I think you've got it figured out, Bob. Go ahead and replace the IAC. If
that doesn't fix your problem, throw a dart at the board to see what part
you'll replace next. Keep going until you repair the car by process of
elimination. Or...
You could start out by checking for DTC's and follow the path. You could
perform actual diagnostics/troubleshooting and replace only the part(s)
that need to be replaced, assuming anything even needs to be replaced. You
could save money and have the pride of doing the job right the first
time.
But that wouldn't be any fun, would it?
