hello
im new and i need of help. i bought a 307 Peugeot 04 plate from arnold
clark in jan 07.. i didnt pass my test till the end of may 07 and since
then my car has been terrible.. it was under manufacture warranty till last
july and in that time it was taken into the peugeot garage due to an anti
poloution fault warning coming up on the dash board. It has been in 3 times
since and is now under extended warraty with arnold clark. It was serviced
by an idependant garage and they told me there were 3 errors appearing on
their lap top when the car was plugged into it and advised me to take the
car back while it was still under warranty for the rest of the month. I was
advised to just take it straight to Peugeot again, which i did and its the
same anti pollution fault and they are now saying the problem is the engine
harness and that its not covered by my warranty and i shall be charged
£500.. im just wondering where to go from here as im sure this is not right
if they haven't fixed the problem in the first place as they would have
been covered under manufactures warranty. oh and they also charged me 64
quid for a diagnostic test which i have never been charged! i am a woman
and thinking they might be taking the P a bit??
sorry very long winded
any help appreciated

Not knowing where you are located, we can't help. We dont want a street
address or other personal information but need to know if you are in the
US, Canada, United Kingdom (I suspect because of the monetary units
described in the post)

S/He's from the UK. Judging by the type style and speach, lol.
Rainbow, I'm not sure about the legal bits, but most dealers will at least
offer a discount as a good will gesture given their mis-diagnosis in the
first place. Lets face it, it was a problem on their part, afterall. Speak
to them again, if you have no joy I suggest you write to Peugeot's Customer
Service Department direct and vent you dis-satisfaction. Don't forget that
even main dealers are just franchises working for Peugeot, so it might be
in their best interest to reimburse you in order to save possibly having to
do it after being instructed...

Rainbow, you made a big mistake buying a Peugeot in the first place. You
have an extended warranty so get them to repair it as a non maintainable
item: the harness is not realistically a wear and tear part (and probably
isn't the cause of your problem). Get nasty.
