1996 Ford Explorer, 4X4, 130,500 miles, not sure what the engine type is
called, 6 something, and 4 something. :)
Automatic transmission.
My Air bag light came on earlier today. I'm wondering why it would, because
my air bags have not deployed since I have had the truck. (I've owned it
for 3 years and the light has never been one before).
I got some work done on it about three months ago. A new (used)
transmission, spark plugs, pvc (?) valve....
Also my check engine light is on, and I plugged in a miniature Dio, and it
came up with something to do with the air intake, or Cadillac converter.
I'm not so concerned about the check engine light as much as the air bag
light. It's solid and NOT blinking. Oh and I have a leak in my Power
Steering (not sure it it's the pump or a tube?). It's noting bad though, I
just add fluid and it's fine for a few weeks.
I'm going to be driving it to Kentucky from Ohio here in a couple days so I
kinda need to know what I should do.
I read on another site to just unplug my batterie... Neg, than Pos, and
that hook it back up, pos, than Neg.
I was thinking about getting a new air filter and an oil change before I
go. Anything else I should do?

this one needs to go to a shop with the proper diagnostic equipment - not
knowing what one is doing around the air bags can get you hurt or killed.

Oh I wasn't going to try to fix it myself! LOL
I wouldn't know how, or what to do....
I'm just wondering if it could be one of the problems that is alreadly
happening in my truck.
OH and BTW I forgot, I got a note on my truck the other day saying "Sorry
about the dent, had to go, here's my phone number for insurance"
There was NO dent at all so I didn't bother calling. Do you think that
could have caused it, if someone hit my bumpper.... but wouldn't it have
lit up a few days ago when it got hit, not today?

now it's blinking 5 times, than pauses 2 times.... I know it's trying to
tell me something.... I made an appointment today, hopefully it won't be
too much! :P
