my roommates alaways use my car,how can I stop my car to start to not let him use but easily let myself to recover and start?

for example:

1) can I simply unplug the spark plug ?

2) is there any dangers for start the car without spark plug?

3) is there any adjustment after plug the spark plug back?

thanks! posted by  zel108

Pullling a spark plug won't stop the car from running, it'll stop one cylinder.

You could pull a fuse for the starter, or do as some people do and install a killswitch. Or just hide the keys better. posted by  giant016

would you mind let me know where is fuse located? is there any dangers to pull the fuse ?

thanks for the reply. posted by  zel108

He could pull the coil lead off...that'll stop it running, lol. It all depends on the type of car as to what's available to remove I guess. posted by  Cliffy

Probably, he's never on here anymore, and it's really only C-F and porn if you ask me. posted by  giant016

This is different for all cars, but somewhere, likely under your hood, is the fuse box. Sometimes they are located in the interior of the car in the dash area. The inside cover of the fuse box usually has a diagram showing which fuses control what, seeing as most fuse boxes have 20 or so fuses, and only one controls the starter. There is no danger in pulling the fuse as long as the car is off. This is fairly common practice to thwart car thieves, as they can hotwire the car all day and it will never start.

P.S., where are you from? posted by  giant016

I have a 2002 Malibu. Do you know where is the fuses box? I came from China.

There are 2 fuse boxes located on a 2002 Chevy Malibu. One is under the hood on the right side towards windshield, and the other is on the driver side when you open the door.

So, which fuse should I take out?

found more info:

UNDERHOOD fuse block. (ST/LP fuse #12 25amp)feeds brake light switch, then supplies power to the other 2 fuses.

Fuse block REAR. under the second row seat driver side.
2 fuses to check

(fuse #16 10amp) for the third brake light
(fuse # 34 15amp) for left and right lights.

but, where is the fuse for start? posted by  zel108
