Possibly CV?

Hey everyone,
Well let's see where to start? It's my 2000 integra LS 5spd. Recently I replaced both front struts, coil overs, and had both ball joints on the drivers side done. Now whenever I start or stop moving I'm getting a knocking noise. It seems a little louder when turning. The rotors are a few years old and have a groove in them but nothing too bad. The pads are only 6mos or so old. Doesn't make any noise while driving and seems to go away after the 30mi ride to work. My friend tells me it's probrably a CV but when I did the struts they seemed tight. If parked in gear I can rock the car up and down and side to side along with forward and back and it makes no noise. Any ideas on how to be sure if it's a CV or not?
Thanks. posted by  DBain

Could be a CV joint....did you make sure you had plenty of grease in them? Especially if you removed the gaiters when carrying out the other work! posted by  Cliffy

Honestly I've never had the boot off since I've owned it. Could be a grease issue I guess, but I'm not sure. Never had to do a CV before. I can tell you the boot is sealed though. It's completly dry and the rubber is still like new(amazing for a NH car). posted by  DBain

Could still be a worn joint. When turning, could the knock be decsribed as more like a clicking noise? posted by  Cliffy

Yeah I guess it could. But it's strange because it's only at either stop and go or at very very slow speed. Doesn't make any noise shifting from first up, just into first or clutched to stop. This weekend I'll end up takin the tire off and possibly pulling back to boot so see if it's dry like you said. I'm not too familiar with working on front ends tho so I'm not sure what I'll be able to see. Thanks for your help tho, any more info would also be appreciated. posted by  DBain

Haha Dbain, the "boonies of New Hampshie". If you hadn't said that I would hve assumed you were one of the many burbs or inner cities in New Hampshire. posted by  giant016

Oh? and why is that? Honestly if I was from a suburb wouldn't I pay someone else do it for me?

Anyway I'm starting to lean more towards a brake issue. In the way it only makes the noise at stop and go almost sounds like the caliper is sticking. I just really can't tell because it wont do it while i'm outside the car, and the window motor is shot on the drivers side. posted by  DBain
