Well i have been working on applying some vinyl on my car and I have ran
into some issues with wrapping around my head lights, the vinyl seems to
start pulling itself off arround the corners of the lights so anyone kno
how i can stop this from happening?
jansy1
why do you have vynils on your lights? the heat form them being on will
make the vynil curl.
bullrage2003
no no I dont have then on the lights I have them around the lights and its
only the corners that loose the adhesive
jansy1
did you make sure the surface was completely clean? did you touch that part
of the adhesive at all? pics?

ideally what you probably should have done was taken the headlights out and
tucked the vinyl in behind the headlights so you don't have any exposed
edges. As soon as you have an exposed edge, especially on the front of the
car, dirt, wind and water will pound away at the exposed edge eventually
pealing it back. You could try cleaning it out good and applying some heavy
duty adhesive, but it will be hard to get it to lay flat.

Agree 100%. If you're working on your car, take the time to do the job
right. Vinyl often looks cheap and tacky anyways, applying it half-assed
is going to look terrible. Take out the headlights and tuck it behind
them. It will look better and won't peel.

You could also try a heatgun to help bond the vinyl to the surface well, I
know they do it with some window tints, as well as tint for headlights and
taillights.

Thats not to help adhesion thats to make the material more plyable and
easier to work with.
I use a heat gun to remove tint cause it melts the glue.

Well wouldnt heating up the glue make it more sticky, hence more likely to
stick better and not peel?? Ive seen heat guns used to put on windshield
banners (level surface mind you). Not saying you are wrong, just thats what
I saw.

I'm confused. Why is there vinyl on the front of your car? Does it serve a
specia purpose or is it just a mod that I've never seen before. Is this
something different than what I'm thinking (the stuff that's used in
interiors)?

You've obviously never played NFS lol.
He's talking about the huge stickers that you put on your car:
