Should be interesting next season to see how the 5 litre performs
Wally
What I don't get is they are bringing in these new cars/styles but are also
talking about the 'future' care that they have been testing (will make all
cars more even). If they are to bring those out then isn't it a waste
spending so much on these new cars/designs only to be good for a year?
car_crazy89
ummmm, camry .... 5 liter? ummmm, camry, nascar?
ummm, maybe i just dont know something here
nighthawk
yea, toyoto is entering nascar... they are trying to get blacks interested
too... trying to shed the redneck image and expand it's appeal

What's blacks got to do with anyting??? Last time I checked, the black car
stereotype was predominantly Cadillac. I don't ever see much brotha's in
Camrys. Mostly big body Caddy's, Caprice's, Impala's, Monte Carlos,
Lumina's, Oldsmobiles, and the like. They already had Monte Carlos in
Nascar, and I wasn't aware of an increase in the minority population
attending Nascar events.
elchango36
Ooooo.....*wait for it* lol
It's really not good to stereotype like that!
And why do you put your email addy in every post?...who's gonna email you?
lol
Cliffy
That's exactly the point of the diversity program, to make blacks and other
minorities more aware and increase their participation. For whatever
reason, if you go to any stock car event, minorities are way under
represented when compared to the general population of the surrounding
area.
My local dirt track is a perfect example. The complexion of the
surrounding area is almost evenly split 50% white/50% black, but on any
given Saturday night you'll have 700-1000 people in attendance and less
than five of those will be non-white. Check out the links for more info on
NASCAR's programs.

Is the Camry going to enter the Busch series as well?? Hopefully I'll be
able to watch the Daytona race next week on MotorsTV.
fudge
Yes, but not until 2007 for either series. Obviously, Tundras have been in
the truck series for a few years now.

it was only a matter of time for toyota to bring the camry in ever since
the tundra started racing in the truck sseries
mx3_monster
Is the Camry photoshopped?...For some reason the front doesn't look too
real...
chris_knows
Don't know really.

Oh look. Not only are we a spamvertiser, we're also a racist. Moron.
vwhobo
Perhaps he shoulda said why there's no children of rap in NASCAR. All
racism aside, most of those were pretty funny if you ask me, party pooper
jedimario
amazing...
I state fact of NASCARs policy of pursuing the minority community then you
lib's call me racisit proving your prejuidice towards others, not mine.
My website is , I don't have any brilliant guides to english
or fancy hijacked phots of crap I don't actually own for my signature...

She's so thin, she doesn't even cast a shadow.

Don't try calling me a liberal to cover for the fact that you're an
ignorant racist. Maybe instead of calling people names, you should pull
your head out of your ass and join the real world.
BTW, shitty photochop job on the girl.
vwhobo
Wow, you broke the rules twice, at individual intervals in the same
thread!
I've already warned you about the advertising in your sig. That warning's
still there! Are you really that stupid!
Cliffy
Where is it that I have called anyone names? I haven't, yet I have been
called ignorant, a moron, a spamsomthing, what else??
The top 10 list was written by Chris Rock, so now who is racisit?
Your action to impose YOUR idea of equality actually displays your own
discrimination and intollerance. Then you top it off with name calling?
The attacks on me are based on emotions and not the facts, that is what
liberals do.
It is better to keep quiet and be thought of as a fool, than to open your
mouth and remove all doubt.
Johnny Mac

johnny mac
You should read and heed your own advice, genius. Whether you like it or
not, even when Chris Rock does that as part of his routine, it's still
racially charged. Dave Chappelle regularly uses the word nigger, but for a
white male such as myself to do so would be unacceptable. That is not
emotion, that as pure unadulterated fact.
Now let's consider the fact that you've unilaterally decided that I must be
a liberal because I don't subscribe to your viewpoint. If you look at
recent history, you'll see it's the liberals who stand behind the curtain
free speech to try to take away the ability of others to use theirs. You
are the one who posted the ten reasons (without attribution I might add).
Now because I'm exercising my right to free speech and calling you what you
appear to be, your panties are in a wad. That is modern liberalism at its
finest and you are the one perpetrating the deed.
Let's take it step further. Did you spend some time doing research on me
before jumping to your ignorant and ill decided conclusion? Did you know
anything about me before labeling me a liberal? Have you looked at my long
history of posts on this forum, some of them describing in detail my
political views? Obviously not. I am as conservative as the day is long
and have been since probably when you were in diapers. The difference
between you and I is that I understand that with actions come consequences,
and the consequence of your action is being labeled a person who doesn't
know the appropriate time and place for something of that nature at best,
and a racist at worst. Simply being stupid is another strong possibility.
vwhobo
The front doesn't look real because NASCAR racers don't have actual lights,
just airbrushed fake lenses. So yes, it looks fake because the real car's
lights are fake. ;)
ChrisV
That would explain it, but they look oddly real for being brushed on...
chris_knows
Well, I gotta correct ChrisV on this point. They're not airbrushed on,
they're stickers. Headlights, tail lights, etc, haven't been painted on
Cup cars for years. As a matter of fact, current technology has it so
entire cars can be what's known as "body in white" and the entire thing is
covered with one big sheet of vinyl (about nine seperate panels actually).
That way they don't have to be destickered, repainted and restickered for
an appearance chance. You can just peel off the old look and stick on the
new.
vwhobo
Well, yeah, but they are usually stickers of airbrushed artwork, not actual
photos of the lights. Check them up close. ;) Though in the last couple
years, digital imaging on vinyl has come a long way.
OTOH, Jeff Gordon's PPG chameleon paint was in fact, paint.
ChrisV
There are alot of cars, most actually, that are still in fact paint. I
said the cars CAN be fully covered with vinyl.
vwhobo
Well there's exceptions to the vast majority of rules/generalized
statements/ etc. And why wouldn't they use photos? Not saying tha they
did, just seems like it'd be cheaper and have a better effect.
jedimario
Dunno why they wond't use photos, other than the fact that the perspective
is off, and an airbrush artist can compensate for that. The first pics
posted in the thread of the Camry and Tundra used airbrush art (on vinyl),
while the second Camry looks like it could use a photo on vinyl.
