this truck and the LS 9 engine?

I want to upgrade my headers but i want to go used, what year and type of
v8 am i looking for?
what other parts can i swap out from say an 80's vette or a 454?
would it be worth it to convert the 2wd to 4wd? or am i better off starting
with the 4wd?
any input is appreciated
